Cae Du Frequently Asked Questions

How can I book?

If you have a group booking request or any special considerations please either phone us on 01766 890660 or email info@caeducampsite.co.uk with clear details and a contact phone number.

You can pop into reception during office open hours, which can be found on our website homepage.

We request a deposit at the time of booking and the balance of your payment 28 days prior to arrival.

What time can I arrive on site?

You can arrive on site from 13:30pm to 8:00pm. Contact us if you anticipate arriving later.

What time is check-out?

Check out is by 11:00am.

A late check-out option is available until 5:00pm for £20, subject to availability—please arrange this on departure morning.

The weather forecast is bad for the time I have booked. Can I cancel?

Please read the Terms & Conditions and ensure that you understand what your cancellation policy is. In rare extreme weather warning scenarios requests for postponement or cancellation may be made to managers and may be upheld at their discretion.

Is the barrier shut at night?

The barriers close for checked-in customers at 10:30 pm. If you go out for the day and arrive back to the site after this time, you can leave your car in the car park and walk to your pitch. Please be mindful of noise levels if you need to use your car during quiet time. The exit barrier will open at any time for those wishing to do a sunrise hike.

How to get to Beddgelert village

We have 2 access gates to the back lane, which are marked on your arrival map. Turn right at any of these to follow the lane and then the river into Beddgelert, taking 10 - 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can walk down the driveway to the main road and turn left.

Where is Snowdon?

The nearest Snowdon path to Cae Du is the Watkin Path. This path is less than 3 miles from Cae Du. For more information on Snowdon routes and the Snowdon Sherpa bus service, please check our onsite information hub located in the main toilet blocks.

Are fires allowed on site?

Fires are allowed at Cae Du, as long as they are contained and in a firepit off the ground. We have firepits available for hire as well as logs, kindling and firelighters. These are available from reception between 09:30 - 5pm Sunday to Thursday and 09:30 - 6pm Friday & Saturday

Can we wash our clothes on site?

We have a laundry room located at the main toilet block, with washers and dryers. Please note that the older machines do not take the new £1 coins, but take any other change, including £2 coins. We can change cash at reception during office hours, or you can get cash from the post office in Beddgelert. We also have laundry pods available for £1 each.

Are dogs allowed on the site?

Dogs are allowed on site and the maximum number of dogs is 2 per unit. They must always be on a lead and under control.

How many cars can I bring?

We allow for one car per pitch. There is a fee for additional cars and we must have prior notification/agreement of how many. Some pitches can accommodate more than one vehicle and others cannot. You may be asked to park additional cars away from your pitch.

Can I reserve a seasonal pitch?

I would like to reserve a specific pitch or area. May I?

Whilst our aim is to please all our customers, we do not have the capacity to honour all requests.

Please be prepared to be flexible and by all means let us know at the time of booking if you have a preferred area but bear in mind we can never guarantee a specific request. This is to allow for the smooth running of the site for all and to ensure we do not promise anything we cannot deliver in case of unexpected issues arising.

Does the site shut for winter?

Cae Du Caravan & Camping Park is open for 8 months. Our season runs from 1st March to 1st November.

What is the site emergency number?

The on-duty warden has a mobile phone and is on-call overnight for EMERGENCIES ONLY. The number can be found on the paperwork you were given on arrival and in the Reception main entrance window.

Is WiFi available on site?

A WiFi code will be supplied on arrival from Reception.

I have booked an electric hook-up. What should I bring?

If you have booked electric hook-up please note that the appliances are limited to 10amps. Ordinary household kettles etc will trip the unit. You need to bring specialist camping appliances.

Please also bring your own mains hook-up cable.

Please observe all safety advice including rolling out cables fully to prevent overheating and fire risk.

Can we pitch together?

It is possible to request pitches together by contacting us by email info@caeducampsite.co.uk or phone 01766 890660. Whilst we make it our endeavour to grant this request, it is never guaranteed.
